EUNK: GOLD MEDAL IN APIMONDIA CHILE 2023

During the latest World Beekeeping Awards, celebrated at the International Apicultural Congress Apimondia in Chile 2023, the scientific journal EUNK received a gold medal in the ‘Printed Material’ category, specifically in the ‘Scientific Journal’ sub-category. This prize highlights the role of EUNK as the only beekeeping scientific journal in Latin America.

EUNK originated from an initiative by CAP (Cámara de Apicultores Pampero y Cooperativa de Trabajo Apícola Pampero Ltda.), which aimed to foster collaboration among various national institutions specialized in beekeeping research. The objective was to contribute to the scientific and technological development of the sector. The academic institutions involved include the Laboratorio de Estudios Apícolas (LabEA) at the Universidad Nacional del Sur, the Centro de Investigación en Abejas Sociales (CIAS) at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, the Facultad de Agronomía at the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, and the Centro de Microbiología Básica y Aplicada (CEMIBA) at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata.

This prestigious award is a recognition of the collaborative work of researchers from various public Argentine universities. Their efforts made the launch of EUNK possible. It also honors the researchers who chose this platform to publish their findings and the community of readers who have accompanied the journal since its first edition.

Launched in 2022, EUNK already has three published issues. These issues cover a wide variety of topics through original articles, specialized articles, and scientific notes. The journal is open-access, making both the reading and publication of articles completely free.
